Training Modules 9.1 and 9.2 in Sofia

7-11 & 14-18 March 2023, Sofia

In March the UC welcomed two groups of UC Fellows to their initial Training Modules. Under the guidance of two leading professors, we hosted variety of guest speakers who delivered array of talks, seminars, and workshop to our UC Fellows at each Module.

Reflections from participants:

“My experience was certainly a positive one – there were many intellectually stimulating conversations, some of which change the way I view the trans-atlantic security order. I had expected more lectures, but was pleasantly surprised by the interactivity of the seminar-like structure of the module.”

“I left the module feeling really inspired and energized to continue pursuing my interests in the region. All of my expectations regarding the rigor and content that I would learn from the module were met. What I was not expecting at all was to so quickly build such a tight community amongst the other UC Fellows. I am so impressed by all of the hard work that was done to bring together such an interesting group of people and feel honored to have been able to participate.”

“I had a wonderful experience participating in the module. It exceeded my expectations, in terms of how much I learned from the sessions and the quality of the new (to me) network.”

“The module has been extremely stimulating and enriching. Learning from scholars and interacting with fellows, comparing my understanding of the situation with their various assessments, truly made me reflect on the West-Russia relations.”
