The American and European Principals and the St Antony's team of the University Consortium condemn, in the strongest terms possible, the invasion and use of violence by the Russian Federation against the sovereign country of Ukraine and the profound human suffering that this is causing. The University Consortium has spent years fostering dialogue between Russia and Western states and remains firm in its conviction that peaceful engagement is the only effective means to resolve problems between and among countries in mutually satisfactory and enduring ways. We denounce the use of violence by any state in pursuing a war of choice.
The UC stands with the people of Ukraine and supports them in this time of their horrific and unjustifiable suffering.
