Alexandra Orlova is a PhD candidate in political science at Freie Universität Berlin and a researcher at the German Center for Integration and Migration Research (DeZIM). She holds a bachelor's and a master's degree in sociology from the Russian State University for the Humanities, as well as a master's degree from Freie Universität Berlin. Her PhD research focuses on the effect of sanctions on political attitudes in autocracies. Her broader research interests include political attitudes, public opinion in autocracies, and propaganda, with a particular focus on Russia and Eastern Europe, together with integration and social inequality studies. She is also actively involved in refugee support initiatives.
