Claudia Westwood is a candidate for the MSc in Russian and East European Studies at the University of Oxford. She grew up in Glasgow, Scotland and Charlotte, North Carolina, USA. She completed her undergraduate studies at King’s College London with a degree International Relations. Her research interests centre on foreign policy and identity in Russia and the post-Soviet republics. At the undergraduate level, her thesis examined the effects of NATO expansion on US-Russian relations in the immediate post-Cold War period. Currently, her research is focused on the securitisation of Russian speaking minorities in Estonia and Georgia.
