Emily Hackett is a master’s candidate in Regional Studies: Russia, Eastern Europe, Central Asia. Having grown up between Vermont, USA and Roudnice nad Labem, Czech Republic, Emily now researches the history of cultural diplomacy in East Central Europe. Her current project specifically focuses on Ukrainian student migration to Czechoslovakia in the 1920s. Apart from her historical research, Emily has a general interest in soft power projects, especially in the sphere of international education. She speaks Czech and Ukrainian, and has spent time abroad in Kyiv and Bishkek.
