Eva Jovanova is a Skopje native and currently a Master’s candidate at the Center for Eurasian, Russian, and East European Studies (CERES) at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in European Studies at the Otto von Guericke University in Magdeburg, Germany in 2017, where she focused on Eastern Europe and the integration of the Balkans into the European Union. Her passion for Russia was sparked in 2016, during her semester abroad at the St. Petersburg State University, and ever since, her main research interest has included Russia’s domestic affairs and foreign policy, as well as Russia’s relations with the Balkans.
