I am an M.A. candidate in Regional Studies: Russia, Eurasia, and Eastern Europe at the Harriman Institute at Columbia University. I received my undergraduate degree from Rhodes College, double majoring in Russian Studies and International Studies. Before I enrolled at Columbia, I completed a Fulbright ETA in Astana, Kazakhstan. At the Harriman, my main research interests are civil society and human rights in Central Asia. My thesis pertains to the relationship between transnational repression and activism in the case of Tajik and Uzbek exiles.
