Lili will complete her master's from Columbia University in the Spring of 2023 with a Regional Studies degree in Russian, Eastern European, and Eurasian studies with a focus on Ukraine. Lili is originally from Washington, D.C., but completed her bachelor's degree in International Studies and French at DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois, with one year abroad at Science Po in Paris. She then served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ukraine for two and a half years before pursuing a career in journalism in Kyiv. While studying, Lili works part-time as an editor with the English-language Ukrainian newspaper the Kyiv Independent. Previously she was with the Kyiv Post in 2021, first as a staff writer covering business news and then as the business editor. Lili has also interned in the U.S. Congress, at the Atlantic Council's Eurasia Center, and at the Human Rights Watch European and Central Asia division. After finishing her master's degree, she plans to return to Ukraine to continue her work with the Kyiv Independent.
