Lily is an MPhil candidate in Russian and East European Studies at the University of Oxford. Her research focuses on Russian environmental politics and elite blame avoidance. She graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a dual undergraduate degree in Politics and Russian Studies. During her Bachelor studies, she spent a year living in Moscow, studying at Moscow State University. Lily is British but lived in Bulgaria as a child and, prior to commencing her Master’s degree, she worked for a Bulgarian think tank researching Russian foreign interference in East European countries, as well as regional environmental policies. At Oxford, Lily is the co-President of a student society that gives a platform to Eurasian perspectives in Western academia and building bridges of dialogue by inviting prominent scholars, activists, policymakers and journalists from the region to speak to students and faculty on current developments in their countries.
