Matthew Walker

Matt is an MPhil student in Politics and International Studies at King’s College, Cambridge, where he previously completed his BA in Russian and Slavonic Studies. His current research centres on the work of grassroots socialist movements in Ukraine and the prospects of left-wing politics in the nation post-war. This focus arose from his work with labour rights groups in Kyiv, where he was living up to the start of 2022. He is more broadly interested in questions of radical politics in the Anthropocene, post-capitalist political economy and the significance of Russia within a New International Economic Order. In his free time, Matt helps coordinate a number of student activist groups and supervises first-year Russianists in grammar and culture modules.
