Mikael Pir-Budagyan

First-year MA student at Georgetown University focusing on Eurasia. My interests are primarily focused on Russia and its foreign policy. Currently, I work at the Georgetown Institute for the Study of Diplomacy on a working group report about strategic surprises associated with the war in Ukraine. I also am print Editor-in-Chief of the Georgetown Journal of International Affairs, the flagship publication of the School of Foreign Service. Apart from English, I speak Russian, Spanish, and German. My long-term goal, albeit increasingly complex, is to work on Russia’s relations with the West.
