Pauline is an MA student in Eastern Europe Studies at the Freie Universität in Berlin, where she focuses on post-Soviet political developments and authoritarian regimes. After graduating in Belgium in 2020 from a Masters degree in conference interpreting with German and Russian, during which she got to spend time in different Russian cities, she worked as an intern for the United Nations in New York and the Belgian embassy in Kazakhstan. Since February 2022, she has been working as an interpreter for Ukrainian refugees. At the moment, her main interests include political narratives and their linguistic aspects, politics of memory and power successions in authoritarian regimes.
