Rebeka Papp is an MSc student in Russian and East European Studies at the University of Oxford. She holds a BA degree in Politics, Sociology and East European Studies with a Year Abroad from SSEES, UCL. Originally from Hungary, she is mainly interested in the multi-layered structure of EU-Russia relations in which EU member states are sovereign actors capable of pursuing foreign policies independent of the official EU standpoint. Her research interests also includes studying the roots of contemporary developments from a constructivist viewpoint by looking at how actors have constructed their identity since the end of the Cold War. Alongside her studies, she also worked as an intern at the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade at the Department of Russia and Central Asia which provided her with first-hand experience of the diplomatic relations between Hungary and Russia. She also undertook an internship at Republikon Institute, a Hungarian NGO, where she learned about the political and social developments of the wider CEE region.
