Matthew Reichert

Matthew Reichert is a PhD candidate in the Department of Government at Harvard University. His research focuses on historical state-building and identity formation. Matt’s dissertation work uses qualitative and quantitative data from primary sources to examine and test the role of Soviet cultural institutions in the formation of ideas about nationality. He is an affiliate at the Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies, the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs, and the Institute for Quantitative Social Science.
